Time for Worship

I have been challenged to write this, and I hope it turnes out okay...
The last few weeks I have felt like I have been under attack... you know, the kind from the enemy that wears you down, makes you feel about 1 inch tall and basically tries to steal every last bit of joy you have, the kind that seeks your utter and complete ruin. It seems that when I have had any kind of victory or joy happening, the enemy immediately sends his darts to try and pierce my "armor"and stop what the Holy Spirit is wanting to accomplish in me. I do have to admit, truthfully, that I have allowed some of those darts to penetrate me and convince me of things that are not of God...and I have withheld worship from Him because of those darts and how they made me feel...
Here's where I teach a bit... In the Psalms we read about David's heart, at times it was hurting, scared, and worried... about his enemies, about his life choices, about everything. He pretty much "wore his emotions on his sleeve" so-to speak. Yet we see as we read that he always ended with praise and worship to God. No matter what he was going through he always came back to the worship of who God is in his life, despite his circumstances.
Looking back on my life, I have made some pretty bonehead choices... ones that were kind of little stupids, and a few that were huge stupids, yet God has never left me or abandoned me to the sin I had committed. He has always been there, blessing me and my family, loving on me, and holding me even when I thought I was surrounded on every side.
You see (Ps. 46:1 & 2a) God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in time of trouble. Therefore we will not fear! So why, if God is all that for me, why withhold anything from Him? So I have a challenge, to worship Him despite myself, despite what I feel, despite my enemies who seek to destroy me, for my help is in the God who created the heavens and the earth, and without Him, I am nothing. So as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, in the best of times, and the worst of times.
Also remember that our Father inhabits the praises of His people, so when we worship Him, He is there with us, and protecting us from the devil's attacks. What an awesome weapon we have!!
So as I am challenged to worship Him, I challenge you to do the same... in every aspect of your life He is there loving you with all He is!! Read the Palms see what it says... I dare you.

Food!!

I'd also like this blog to be about food! In actuality, critiques of where you have eaten in the great metropolis of Bellingham and beyond, and what you thought of it. I will try to put down all my thoughts whenever I am able to eat out as well. Happy eating!!

Challenge for Men

This last weekend, I had the privilege of going to "Grace Bearers" a mens retreat held in Oak Harbor, Wa. I was a good time of being in the Word and seeking God's direction... I came away challenged in my heart to begin a men's group. One in which men can come and meet with other men for encouragement, strength and prayer.
I have a strong sense that God is calling out men in this day and age to step up to the plate and become men of Christ. To become equipped to lead our families and churches in such a way that Christ is so evident that He is all the world sees, in and through our daily lives. It's like God has drawn a line in the sand and is waiting to see who will stand with Him.
We as men need to be accountable to each other and to God so that we can be protected when the darts of the enemy come. The group will be Christ centered and Bible based... with out that it'll be just another social event, and that's not the intention.
2 Tim. 4:16-17 says " All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
I hope you will join me in praying for the men of this nation, that God will stir our hearts in such a way that the gates of hell will not prevail over our families and beyond any longer.
It's time...
